land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement has
been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

We are requesting a general permit for the construction of a wooden seawall on the
above referenced lot for Mike Patterson. An eroded bluff is present along the
shoreline which has seen significant erosion over the past several years. We have met
with David Joyce to review the design of the structure which would be 95 feet in
length, approximately six feet in height and constructed of marine grade seawall
materials as show in the attached sketch plan. The seawall will be constructed above
the mean high water line and upiand of any coastal marsh habitat.
I have asked David Joyce to contact you to set up a field inspection so that you can
make any recommendations and/or field adjustments. We would like to construct the
bulkhead in the very near future so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
David can meet you at the site at your earliest convenience.
