We (Jan and Charles Hinman) cannot sign these documents without the agreement and permission of Dr. Webster and Mr. Thorp. Mr. Thorp and Dr. Webster have not been able to come to Oriental to attend to this matter due to illness in their family. We have apprised them of this request and have faxed them the pertinent documents. They and we need more information with which to make an informed decision about this matter. We have asked various people in the county if they know of similar installations on the river that were in place prior to the advent of hurricanes Floyd and Dennis, and to date we have found none. Can you tell us where we might find such a seawall that we can see so that we can have a better basis for judgement? If it is necessary to sign the WAIVER SECTION now, then we must deny the waiver.
