permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.

ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.

Dear Mr. Tyndall,
Enclosed is an application form, a check for $50.00 (check number 6320 - Department
of Transportation), plans, a copy of signed written statement from adjacent riparian
property owner, and copies of notification of other adjacent property owners.
This letter is to request a general permit for replacement of existing pipe and
improvement (widening of SR 1351) of Old Post Office Road in Smyrna, North
Carolina. In connection with our secondary road construction program, the Department
of Transportation proposes to excavate and fill a total of approximately 466 square feet
of of coastal wetlands and approximately 32 square feet of open waters as shown on
the enclosed plans. We are requesting a permit in accordance with the North Carolina
Administrative Code T15A:07H.2300. In addition to the erosion and sediment control
measures shown on the enclosed plans, the project area will be seeded and mulched
to provide vegetative cover within twenty (20) days of final grading.
If you have questions or if additional information is needed, please advise.

to this office as soon as possible.
Should you have objections to this proposal, please send your written comments to the
N.C. Division of Coastal Management, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557.
Written comments must be received within ten (10) days of receipt of this notice.
Failure to respond in either method within ten (10) days will be interpreted as no
objection.
