Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Damaged by Hurricane Ophelia
The Town of Emerald Isle requests CAMA authorization to repair and rebuild the 697' sound side
walkway damaged by Hurricane Ophelia. The original wooden walkway was 697'. The town
request permission to repair the southern most 300' of walkway and rebuild the northern most 397'
of destroyed walkway in the same footprint as the original walkway.
The depth of the water at the end of the original wooden pier footprint as measured on November
2, 2006 at low tide (2:10PM) was 16" in Archer's Creek.

I, the undersigned, am the owner of pro$y located at 7014 Emerald Drive which is
adjacent to the property on which the-Gedar-3t eet Pier is located. I understand that the
sections of this pier damaged by Hurricane Ophelia are to be reconstructed by the Town
of Emerald Isle. I further understand that the damaged sections of the pier will be
reconstructed within the same footprint of the old sections and, as such, the location of
the pier will not change. With this understanding and as an adjacent riparian landowner
I have no objection to the planned reconstruction project and further acknowledg
