According to copies of Lampe's paperwork when they rebuilt their dock they are at 275' overall (from shore), and we estimate Mr. Barber needs another 20-25' back on shore due to the contour of the shoreline. As I said the Lampes and the Barbers asked CAMA to go out 50' further 2 years ago, but it was determined by NC Marine Fisheries input that the docks would be on top of middle of sea grass beds. So the original pier line was left standing, and as you can see the pier line at low tide is on a sandy shoal. Thank ike Noe Jr. ■1— N y O1 2003 G1 obe*b1 o r e r . We need 18' back from HWM, and 245' out. Or 262' overall. Mike Tere Barrett wrote: cool. I will go ahead and write it today or tomorrow, and call you. t mike wrote: Tere, That is one of the reasons I also suggested they scale it back as the seagrass has re-established itself on top of the shoal. Where we want to end it now is negilible for seagrass. Mike Tere Barrett wrote: I don't think any of it will be a problem, Mike, but I am waiting on one other thing. I know things seem to get more and more complicated, but with the implementation of the CHPPS (Coastal Habitat Protection Plan), the Division of Marine Fisheries has let us know that they do not want the dock where the boat will be (exclusive of the pier) sitting in submerged grassbeds. Roy is going to fly for us within a week or so, and I am going to have him photo this area so that I can see how healthy the submerged grassbeds are right at that location. Worst case scenario, I will show the photos to fisheries and ask their opinion. Best case, when I see the photos, I will be able to write the permit. I'll let you know as soon as he flies. T mike wrote: Tere, I went out and staked the furthest point out as you asked for the Barber's in Gloucester. This point is atop a shoal at 280' from the HWM. After taking another look at it and discussing it with them, we agreed that they should pull the dock in about 35' with an overall lengh of 245' from HWM. This would put them in line with the Lampe's gazebo to the left and the Lewis T-head next door. They will have more water at MLW as well. We would ask to bridge over the Spartina grass to the regular yard which would add another 18 feet which would be a proposed 18' + 245' or 262' overall. Thanks, and let me know how to proceed.
