Morehead City, NC 28557 Dear Ms. Barrett: Please consider this letter as my application for a permit to construct a boat lift adjacent to an existing dock located on property I own in Emerald Isle, NC. The property address is 7119 Archers Creek Drive. Enclosed is a check for $50.00, which I understand is the required application fee. I have also enclosed copies of the correspondence I have sent to my adjacent property owners, an additional drawing showing the proposed location of the lift, and a copy of my deed showing ownership of the property. As explained in the letters to my adjacent property owners, I am seeking permission to install a boat lift inside the West side of the dock and the maximum spacing for the pilings to be 13' x 13'. I have sketched (in red) the location and size to scale as best I can. I understand that it will be necessary to meet with you on the property to view the site and the proposed plan. I am able to do that on most days, given a couple of days advance notice. If this letter is not sufficient to be considered as an application, please let me know and I will submit the documents which are required. Enclosed is a drawing, showing what I hope to do, and a form on which you may indicate that you have no objection. As the form explains, you may either return the form to the address indicated, or do nothing if you do not object. In the event you have an objection, an address and telephone number is provided so that you may state that objection. As you will see from the drawing, I plan to install the lift inside the West side of the dock and the maximum spacing for the pilings to be 13' x 13'. I do not think that the lift will be within 15' of our common property line, if that line were extended out into the creek; however, in the event my calculations are incorrect I would appreciate your considering executing the waiver section of the enclosed form.
