Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

SECTION.1100 - GENERAL PEK IIT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BULKHEADS AXD THE PLACE.N ENT OF
RIPRAP FOR SHORELINE PROTECTION IN ESTUARINE AND PUBLIC TRUST WATERS
ISA NCAC 07H.1101 PURPOSE
This permit will allow the construction of bulkheads and the placement of riprap for shoreline protection in the public trust wale s
and estuarine waters AECs according to authority provided in Subcbapte: 7J .1 I00 and according to the following guidelines.
This permit will not apply to shoreline protection within the ocean hazard AEC.

ISA NCAC 07H.1102 APPROVAL, PROCEDURES
(a) The applicant must contact the Division of Coastal Management and complete an application form requesting approval for
development. The applicant shall provide information on site location_, dimensions of the project area, and his name and address.
(b) The applicant must provide:
(I) confirmation that a written statement has been obtained sieved by the adjacent riparian property owners
indicating that they have no objections to the proposed work; or
(2) confirmation that the adjacent riparian property owners have beta notified by certified mail of the proposed
wort- Such notice should instruct adjacent property, owners to provide any comments on the proposed
development :r writing for consideration by permitting oiucials to the Division of Coas'L ;: -a?ement within
ten days of receipt of the notice, and, indicate that no response will be interpre:ea as no objection. DCM staE
will review all comments and determine, based on theirre'.evanceo the potential impa::s of tie proposed
project, if the proposed project can be approved by a General Permit. YDCM saf finds that the comment_
are worthy of more in-depth review, the applicant will be notified that he mu_. submit an application for a
major development permit.
(c) No woes shall begin until an on -site meeting is held with the applicant and appropriate Division of Coa-,a? Management
represearative so that the proposed bulkhead alignment can be appropriately marked. W riaen authorization to proceed with the
proposed dam: elopment may be issued during this visit. Construction of the bulkhead or riprap snuz—, tie mu, beg;n within 90 days
of this visit or the general authorization expires and it will be necessan_- to re-examine the alignrre= de,=ire if the general
authorization can be reissued.
