This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing
and attached general and specific conditions. Any violation of these terms
may subject the permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; and
may cause the permit to become null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit of-
ficer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certi-
fies by signing this permit that 1) this project is consistent with the local
land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement has
been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

CAMA General Permit Request
Dear Mr. Jones:
Township No. 6 Water and Sewer District of Craven County is requesting a CAMA General
permit in connection with proposed water system improvements. These improvements include:
➢ Construction of 47,000 linear feet of new 4", 6", 8" and 12" PVC water line along US
Highway 70 in Craven County.
➢ One new 12" HDPE directional drill creek crossing. The crossing is located in the
N.C. Department of Transportation right-of-way under Tucker Creek on US Highway
70.
➢ Three pre-engineered package booster pump stations.
➢ Electrical and telephone telemetry improvements.
A CAMA General Permit (#24492-C) was previously issued on February 11, 2000 for the
proposed Tucker Creek crossing. However, construction was delayed due to funding
restrictions and the permit expired on February 11, 2001. Now that funding has been approved,
we are re -applying for a CAMA General Permit in connection with the proposed Tucker Creek
crossing.
We have re -contacted landowners adjacent to the proposed Tucker Creek crossing via certified
mail to notify them of our project and to request public comment. Certified letters were sent to
four landowners (refer to attached documents for names, property parcel numbers and mailing
addresses). We received return receipts from the certified mailings on February 28th and
March 15t and written or verbal responses from only one of the four landowners (attached) since
that time. The mandatory 10 day public comment period ended on March 8, 2001.
Following is a summary of the (1) response we received:

28560: Ms. Ellis stated that they have no objection to the project as currently
proposed.

Since the mandatory 10-day public review period has now expired, we are officially requesting a
CAMA General Permit for the proposed water system improvements and have included the
Permit Application Fee of $100.00.
To assist you in your review, we are attaching a copy of the USGS quad map showing the
location of the proposed creek crossing, copies of construction plans for the directional drill
crossing, and evidence of the required property owner notifications.
Please review this information and if acceptable, issue a new CAMA General Permit for this
project.
