This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing
and attached general and specific conditions. Any violation of these terms
may subject the permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; and
may cause the permit to become null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit of-
ficer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certi-
fies by signing this permit that 1) this project is consistent with the local
land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement has
been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

It is my understanding that the Town of River Bend will be having the channel behind
our property and near the Island Lake dredged during the upcoming Fall or Winter.
This will take place just off a dock going out from our backyard. The dock was at our
property when we purchased it in 1993. The docks on either side of us had been there
for many years. The water neat our dock is now normally less than 3'. When the south
wind blows for several days, the water is less than 2'. We would like to have the area
around our dock dredged to a normal level of 4' and connected to the dredging planned
by River Bend. This dredging of slightly more than a -foot would permit boating many
more days of the year.
We have a boat lift at the east end -of the dock. The access to the lift is from the north
side of the dock and so the dredging would need to be extended about 40' north so that
the boat can access the boat lift. This area may -overlap a -desired dredging fob the
dock at 214 Gangplank Road.
We do not have an estimate -for the -cost of the -work- If the -estimate -is too high we, will
not have the work completed. But we would like the opportunity to make that decision.
We have notified the adjacent property owners -of our plans. The owners of the
property to the north ( Jerry and Laurie Brandt) have signed the "Adjacent Riparian
Property Owner Statement" stating that they have no objection. The -property owner of
the rental property to the south (Mr. David Moore) signed a certified mail receipt for
getting his copy of the form, our cover letter and a -map -on August 23, 2000. It is -now
over 10 days from his receiving our letter. We have not received a response and so
are proceeding on the bases that he -has no objection.

The town of River Bend seems to be planning to dredge the channel that runs past our
docks. I want to have the opportunity to dredge the water around the dock in the back
of 212 Gangplank Road. I would only have it dredged about 1 1 /2 feet deeper making
it slightly over 4' deep. This would allow better access to the river on days when the
wind is from the south. To get an estimate of cost I need a CAMA permit for the
dredging. I would appreciate your cooperation by signing the attached form that
signifies that you are aware of the proposed work and have no objection to the work
taking place.
