The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.
Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for g0 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

RE: LAMA Private Pier Exemption

Dear Mr. Peters:
I have reviewed the plans submitted by you for the construction
of a pier on the above referenced lot located on Little Creek.
Provided that all work be done in accordance with the plans
submitted and the CAMA guidelines which you signed, it has been
determined that the pier construction is exempt under the CAMA
)`-Minor Permit Requirements.
Please keep in mind the construction requirements subject to this
action. Namely, the pier must not be closer than 15 feet from
the property's riparian corridor except where a written waiver
has been received; a t-section and/or floating dock must not be
over 500 square feet in area and must not cover any marsh grass;
the pier must not extend past the four foot mean low water
contour line nor have a total length of 200 feet or more as
measured from mean high water line, must not interfere with
established navigation rights of other users of the water body,
must not extend beyond the established pier length along the same
shoreline, and may in no case extend more than one-third of the
width of the channel. Also, a building permit will be required.
This office must be notified upon completion of the pier
construction.
This letter of exemption is valid for a period of ninety (90)
days only. A new application will need to be submitted if
construction is not commenced within, that period.
