Through coordination with Mr. James Mercer of the North Carolina Division
of Coastal Management, we have learned of your plans to construct and backfill
a bulkhead on Bogue Sound, Morehead City, Carteret County, North Carolina.
On January 1, 1994, we renewed general permit No. 197800080, (copy
enclosed) that authorizes the maintenance, repair, construction, and backfill
of bulkheads and riprap material structures along eroding shorelines in
navigable waters and waters of the United States in the State of North
Carolina.
Your proposed work is authorized if you can comply with all general permit
conditions and the bulkhead alignment indicated by Mr. Mercer on January 14,
1994. Please read the enclosed permit to prevent an unintentional violation
of Federal law.
