Dear Mr. Mercer,
Per our phone conversation: on March 24, 1994, by this letter
I arcs making application for a General Permit to reface a
section of our current bulkhead to restore it to a
functioning condition for several years. Refacing will be
done per the current Fairfield Harbour Property Owners
Specification for refacing which consists of treated wood
over the current cement asbestos and concrete capped
bulkhead.
The permit is requested for 362 feet of refacing in the
Birdland Marina surroundings in Fairfield Harbour, New Bern,
NC. There is a total of 440 feet of bulkhead in this
marina; which is owner by our recreation club The remaining
78 feet was refaced several years ago. There is 168 feet on
the West side and 194 feet on the South side of the marina.
This bulkhead in owned by the Harbour Recreation Club, Inc.,
1100 Pelican Drive, Fairfield Harbour, New Bern, NC 28560.
Please find the following enclosures:
1. A drawing of the Birdland Marina and surrounding area.
2. A letter signed by the two adjacent property owners
showing no objection to the bulkheads being refaced.
The owners are Lee Strausbaugh, 6002 Cardinal Drive
for Lot #50 and .John Rochon, 907 Caracara Drive for
Lot #45.
3. A $50.00 check made out to DEHNR for the cost of the
permit.
4. A map showing you how to find the Birdland Marina
in Fairfield Harbour.

Dear Mr. Mercer,
This letter is an attachment to our request for a General
Permit to reface the bulkheads in the Birdland Marina,
owned by Harbour Recreation Club within Fairfield Harbour.
It is the signature letter from the adjacent property owners
that they have no objection to the bulkheads being refaced.
We the undersigned state that we have no objection to the
bulkheads within the boundaries of the Birdland Marina being
refaced per the Fairfield Harbour POA specifications.
