Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

I need to modify my dock to accommodate a 3 Oft Pursuit and a 21 ft skiff with lifts
for both. Please find attached my dock as it now exits and the proposed dock. Note that
there will be in excess of 15ft clearance from your property line extended into the canal.
If you will, please sign the "Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement" and
return it in the enclosed stamped and addressed envelope. Please provide to me any
comments on the proposed development in writing for consideration by permitting
officials to the Division of Coastal Management within 10 days of receipt of this notice.
If there is no response it will be interpreted as no objection.

My son-in-law Martin Richter recent spoke with you about our need to modify
my dock at 124 Sound Drive at Atlantic Beach. The need for the modification is to allow
a lift for a 30ft boat 1 recently purchased. Thank you for sending us the required
approval procedures.
Please find enclosed the following:
1. A survey of my property.
2. The existing dockage sketch.
3. The proposed dockage sketch.
4. An "Adjacent Property Owner Statement" from my neighbor, Mr. Marvin
Dwight Rouse @ 122 Sound Drive waiving the 15 ft set back requirement.
5. A certified letter to Mr. Louis Dickerson, owner or the vacant lot west of
my property (126 Sound Drive). Please note that Mr. Dickerson had
indicated earlier that we would not waive the 15 ft set back requirement.
6. A check to the "Division" for $100.00

I understand that the total area of dock coverage cannot exceed 4 ft per linear ft of lot
frontage on the canal. You will see that my lot width is 75ft and therefore my dock area
may not exceed 300 ft in area not counting the sloped approach ramp. To satisfy this
requirement I will have to remove part of my existing dock to accommodate this 5'x24'
dock addition as indicated on the proposed dockage sketch.
