The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian landowner(s) . Ross Jr., Secretary This correspondence is in reference to Mrs. Jargowski's objection to a rock rip rap project proposal by your adjacent riparian neighbor Ms. Kathleen Goodwin -Nelson. Ms. Goodwin -Nelson proposes to install 155' of rock rip rap in front of an existing bulkhead. The project is located adjacent to Cedar Island Bay at 2406 Cedar Island Road on Cedar Island, in Carteret County, North Carolina. The Division of Coastal Management has reviewed the objection and has determined that the project is consistent with the pertinent rules and regulations of the Coastal Resources Commission. Therefore, on February 9, 2004, the DCM issued General Permit #37300-C to Ms. Goodwin -Nelson authorizing the proposed development. If you wish to appeal this permit decision, you may file a request with the Acting Director of the Division of Coastal Management, Mr. Charles S. Jones, Department of Environment and Natural Resources within 20 days of the permit decision. If you choose to do file an appeal request, please contact me for the appropriate forms.
