Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Mr. Montague:
This correspondence is in reference to your objection letter to the recent project proposal by
Mrs. Ruth Sweeny, your adjacent riparian property owner. The project is located at 104
Cherry Ct. on a manmade canal in Pine Knoll Shores, Carteret County, North Carolina. Mrs.
Sweeny proposes to install an uncovered boatlift adjacent to her existing pier.
The North Carolina Division of Coastal Management appreciates your concerns about the
proposed development, and has carefully considered any potential adverse impacts the proposal
may have on access to the existing boatlift on your property adjacent to the project area.
However, the proposed project has been determined to consistent with the pertinent regulations
of the Division. Therefore, on 27 December 2001, the Division has issued a CAMA General
Permit #30641-C to Mrs. Sweeny for the proposed boatlift.
I have enclosed a copy of the permit for your perusal. If you wish to appeal this permit
decision, you may file a request with the Director of the Division of Coastal Management,
Department of Environment and Natural Resources within 20 days of the permit decision. If
you have any questions concerning this matter, please don't hesitate to contact me at (252)
