Dear Mr. Lane,
EUGENE A. CONTI, JR.
SECRETARY
This letter is requesting a general permit .1700 be issued for emergency shoulder/shoreline
stabilization at the end of SR 1344 Barber Rd in Washington County for damage resulting from Hurricane
Irene. The site is located 1.2 miles from SR 1302 at the dead end of SR 1344 and will be 35' in length..
The stabilization will occur on an eroded bank that has collapsed and washed out a portion of the road at the
end of SR 1344. The Division of Coastal Management considers the project area to be within an AEC that
requires authorization for the shoulder stabilization. Included with this request are the MP-1, MP-2 forms,
location map, landowner notices, and permit drawings depicting the proposed work. WBS element # is
DF13201.2094010. If any additional information is needed please contact Ryan Shook at 252-482-7977.
