The pavement at the end of Harkers Island Road (SR 1335) has been undermined by wave and tide action, causing the pavement to break off. The undermining action and broken pavement are isolated to the south eastern portion of the end of the road, which is also the location of the primary outlet point for runoff from the roadside ditch running along the south side of SR 1335. c. Describe the proposed construction methodology, types of construction equipment to be used during construction, the number of each type of equipment and where it is to be stored. North Carolina Department of Transportation plans to remove broken asphalt along the affected portion of the roadway, rebuild the underlying slope and armor with filter fabric and class "B" granite rip rap.
