Mr. Troy Mason
Mason's Marina
307 Core Creek Road
Beaufort, NC 28516
Dear Mr. Mason:
Attached is General Permit #24449-C to repair and/or replace several docks which are located at
Mason's Marina off Core Creek Road at the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway north of Beaufort in
Carteret County.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the white copy for
your files and return the yellow and pink signed copies to us in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope.
Copies of the rules associated with the issuance of this permit are attached for your review.
Please note that the attached permit authorizes repair or replacement of the docks shown. All work
is to be undertaken within the same footprint and dimensions as the pre -storm structures which were
verified by aerial photography taken November 27, 1995 (#46-560, indexed by J9 and J 10). The
verified structures do not include the three damaged floating docks tied together in the basin. Based
on a review of all previous development authorizations for Mason's Marina, these docks were not
approved and should be removed immediately. Be aware that failure to remove these docks could be
considered unauthorized development which may result in enforcement proceedings against your
establishment.
As discussed during our on -site meeting January 26, 2000, you will also find attached a list of
consultants and a copy of the North Carolina Environmental Policy Act (NCEPA). The consultant list
is not a complete listing but rather individuals and firms that have recently submitted work on behalf
of clients to this office. Please feel free to contact anyone you determine that can assist you with
meeting the requirements of NCEPA and the CAMA Major Permit Application.
Your early attention to this matter would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
