The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

Attached is a Certificate of Exemption From Requiring a CAMA Permit to install approximately 128'
of rock rip rap at your property located at #3 Nicklaus Drive, in the Community of Carolina Pines.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the yellow copy
and the attached regulation (7K .0203) for your files and return the blue and green signed copies to us
in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope.

ADJACENT RIPARIAN PROPERTY OWNER STATEMENT
I hereby certify that I own property adjacent to Douglas E. Lindeman's property
located at Lot 26, Township 6, Map 6-214 located on Nicklaus Drive in the Carolina
Pines subdivision on the south shore of the Neuse River, Craven County, North Carolina.
He has described to me as shown below, the protective rock covering of the
shoreline he is proposing at that location, and, I have no objection to his proposal.
DESCRIPTION AND/OR DRAWING OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
(to be filled out by individual proposing development)
Placement of granite rip rap style rock across the base of the bluff fronting onto the
shoreline of the property (See attached property survey and drawing). Rock is to have a
vertical rise of eight to ten feet with a surface area of about fifteen feet. The shoreline of
the property at this point is approximately 128 feet long.
The purpose of the rip rap rock is to protect the bluff and shoreline from further
erosion following the damage to the shoreline caused by Hurricanes Dennis and Floyd.
