Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

We have received vonr proposal for development regulated by the Coastal Area Management Act
(CAN1A). Tl1e activity you propose is exempt from needing a Minor Development Permit as long.as it
meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should cliaiige and your project will no longer meet
these conditions, please contact me before proceeding.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY ANT) CONDITIONS:
ACTIVITY: To construct a 167 feet long bulkhead on Deer Creek at 527 Deer Creek Drive, Cape
Carteret, North Carolina.
CONDITIONS: Prior to initiating any land-drsturbrng activities- a barrier line of filter cloth,_staked hay
bales, or burlap must be installed between the land -disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water
areas, until such time as the area has been properly stabilized with a vegetated cover.. Any. change in the
proposal shall be re-evaluated by the CAMA Officer.. All work must be done in accordance with the
permitted workplat originally submitted on December U6, 1999. This.certification of exemption from
requiring a CAMA Penn.it is valid.for ninety days frontthe date of issuance. Following expiration, a
review of the project and project site may be necessary to renew this certification.
