This extension in actuality is not in fact an extension out into Williston Creek no more than what is presently there. My plans are to run two beams out to the existing tie up pilings I am using to tie my boat up to now. These pilings have been there ever since I bought the property as was the newly constructed pier. However, the original replacement pier construction permit was worded incorrectly and has actually cut off at least another permitted 30 feet or so that Mr. Gerald Willis had in place before the hurricane knocked it out. I plan to lower the height of the new planned extension by about 2 feet to enable me to get in and out of my boat at lower tides. As being older and having back and hip, knee problems I am afraid that the needed extension I have to go through to get on my boat at low tied is getting borderline dangerous for me. Therefore, I request you review my proposed enclosed plans to extend the pier by about 12 to 14 feet and agree to this request and offer no objections, and please sign and return the forms as soon as possible. I would greatly appreciate it. Also, and additionally, as I mentioned to you a while back when we first spoke last year, I am planning to raise my house up onto pilings in August of this year. In the process to gain approval and accomplish my project I will have to remove discarded concrete blocks, plus bricks from my 2 chimneys that will require removing before the house raising. There will be other items to be disposed off and other allowable product removed from the current underpinning of the existing sub support under my house at that time. In order to remove this economically and utilized this material under the best and possible discarding of materials to reuse this material and back fill to my proposed treated wood pilings sea wall that I am asking approval For I am planning to build this seawall in conjunction with the raising of my house. As you well know with the possibility of hurricanes and the on going higher tides we experienced the last couple of years, and the knowledge of melting of the polar ice caps the sea is rising annually at a substantial rate. It's not unusual to find water in and on my driveway on a regular basis. This sea wall will raise the property line and lower levels of exposure that we have now. By utilizing the discarded material as legal and approved backfill materials base don Section.110 General Permit for construction rules it will save me some money and use materials to help the "green effort". 4 This request for approval to build a sea wall wouldn't necessarily uire your approval but as my neighbor I would like to advise you of my plans ase yidb have some objections that we can discuss, and or would like to entertain anYour- ideastiry�r► concerning this project or the benefits to doing something similar our property side. Additionally, for your information, I have already complained to the State of h Carolina on my behalf as well as potentially yours concerning excessive water C. j overflow due to storm drain off from surrounding properties around yours and my" property. As you know they all drain first onto your property then across mine. Any back up or poor flow across either of our properties is causing high water, slow drain off, and flooding and possible damage and reduction in property values. If you are called upon by any State or Country officials I would appreciate your support in getting the State, County or some government agency to dig out the ditches across our co -joined properties for additional and better drainage due to rain, flooding storms etc. I hope this letter finds you doing well and enjoying another nice summer.
