Dear CAMA,
The winter storm that came through the area last night took about 50 % of
our frontal ocean dune which protects our bluff. We need to restore the
leading edge of this dune so it will be there as a buffer for the next storm.
Request that your office issue a local permit authorizing us to restore our
primary frontal ocean sand dune which was damaged by the storm. The
property (bluff) is extremely vulnerable right now to future storms. We
need to restore a section 400 feet long and 10 feet deep with a vertical
height of about 10 feet using a bulldozer. About 1/3 of the volume of sand
that was pushed up in 1996, remains. We need to keep that from caving in
over the next few weeks by shoring it up with the new sand.
Attached is a diagram to show the concept of the work and the Adjacent
Riparian Property Owner Statcaients.
