This letter is in reference to your 17 July 1998 correspondence to me objecting
to your neighbor's (Mrs. Ethel Kendrick) proposal to construct a pier and boat house

DIRECTOR
in Beaufort County, North Carolina. The North Carolina Division of Coastal
Management has given your objection to the aforementioned project careful
consideration and has determined that the project is consistent with the appropriate
rules and regulations of the Division. Consequently, the Division issued General
Permit No. 019016-B on 28 July 1998 to Mrs. Ethel Kendrick to construct a pier and
boat house. Please note on the enclosed copy of the permit that Mrs. Kendrick did
comply with part of your wishes by moving the structure to the center of the site and
placing the boat house behind the platform on the left side of the proposed pier.
If you wish to appeal this permit decision, you may file a request with the
Director of the Division of Coastal Management, Department of Environment and
Natural Resources within 20 days of the permit decision. If you have any questions
