Proposed Docks) Dear N C Coastal Management: On March 5, 2005 I received the attached hand written and undated letter, copy attached, from B & C Land Co. regarding docks they plan to build in Cabin Creek. I am enclosing a copy of the survey they provided, which indicates the location of their proposed docks. I am strongly opposed to docks being placed in Cabin Creek at the proposed sites for the following reasons: 1. The creek is very narrow with a very narrow channel and the docks will be placed in a position that will block the channel completely. 2. Because of the narrow and shallow opening in the creek at that point, backwash will soon close any boat access. 3. I believe this area of the creek is significant for shrimp reproduction for Bay River and should not be compromised with channel blocking docks. Proposed Docks) Dear N C Coastal Management: On March 5, 2005 I received the attached hand written and undated letter, copy attached, from B & C Land Co. regarding docks they plan to build in Cabin Creek. I am enclosing a copy of the survey they provided, which indicates the location of their proposed docks. I am strongly opposed to docks being placed in Cabin Creek at the proposed sites for the following reasons: 1. The creek is very narrow with a very narrow channel and the docks will be placed in a position that will block the channel completely. 2. Because of the narrow and shallow opening in the creek at that point, backwash will soon close any boat access. 3. I believe this area of the creek is significant for shrimp reproduction for Bay River and should not be compromised with channel blocking docks.
