Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

As you are aware, the entrance channel to Atlantic Harbor has been closed by sand deposited from recent
storm events. Carteret County proposes to dredge the sand that has washed into the channel north of
daymarker "6". The sand will be excavated with a trackhoe to a depth of 4 feet below normal high water
and placed on the east side of the large spoil area established by the Corps of Engineers. This excavation
method should minimize the disturbance to adjacent waters and allow for the deposition of clean sand
within the Littoral System.
Attached are the following documents related to this project:
• Copies of letters to adjacent property owners along with Certified Letter receipts.
• An aerial photo site plan and close-up photo showing the area of proposed work.
• A scale drawing of the area to be dredged along with cross sections which define the volume of
974 cubic yards of sand to be removed from the entrance channel.
• The survey data used for the site plan. This data shows elevations relative to Mean High Water
Line established from your marker flags placed on December 2, 2004.
• A check in the amount of $100 for the general permit fee.
