Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

RE: CAMA Permit to repair storm damage adjacent to your home in Emerald Isle
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Letchworth:
Carteret -Craven Electric Cooperative's (CCEC) substation behind the satellite fire department on
Emerald Isle suffered erosion due to Hurricane Ophelia. If another storm strikes before repairs
are made, the electric facilities may wash overboard. This will cause a lengthy loss of electric
service from Emerald Isle to Salter Path.
CAMA regulations require us to obtain a permit and contact the adjacent property owners before
repair work can commence. Our plans are to replace the existing wood bulkhead with a PVC
bulkhead and add a second PVC bulkhead behind the existing bulkhead as shown on the attached
drawing.
Carteret County Tax Maps show that you own the tract on the east side of the substation. Please
indicate that there are no objections to the proposed work by signing this letter in the space
provided below and sending it back in the enclosed envelope. Also, it may be beneficial to both
you and CCEC to extend the sound side bulkhead partially onto your property. I am available to
discuss this if you are interested. If I do not hear from you in this regard, we will only install the
bulkhead on CCEC's property.
