Dear Mr. Gilgo:
By this letter, General Permit #C-7857, which was originally
issued to you on November 27, 1990 by Charles Pigott, is hereby
renewed for an additional ninety (90) days. This gives you a new
expiration date of May 27, 1991.
The conditions of the original permit still apply. The
bulkhead is to be constructed at an average of 2' from the
existing bank. Also, adequate sedimentation and erosion control
practices (as noted on General Permit #C-7861) should be utilized
to prevent erosion of sediment into the adjacent canal.
Also, you will still need to obtain any necessary permits
from the local government.

Gentlemen:
Through coordination with Mr. Charles Pigott of the North Carolina
Division of Coastal Management, we have learned of your plans to construct and
backfill a bulkhead on a manmade canal off Core Sound, Carteret County, North
Carolina.
On April 1, 1988, we renewed general permit No. CESAW-0078-N-000-0080
(copy enclosed) that authorizes the maintenance, repair, construction, and
backfill of bulkheads and riprap material structures along eroding shorelines
in navigable waters and waters of the United States in the State of North
Carolina.
Your proposed work is authorized, if you can comply with all permit
conditions and the bulkhead alignment indicated by Mr. Pigott on November 27,
1990. Please read the enclosed permit to prevent an unintentional violation
of Federal law.
