This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

This is in reference to the request that the Town of Emerald Isle received from Mr. Ted
Strickland to beach bulldoze an area in front of his residence located at 6103 Ocean Drive, in
the Town of Emerald Isle, Carteret County. Since Mr. Strickland was unable to obtain your
written approval, his request has been forwarded to the Division of Coastal Management.
We have carefully reviewed your comments but we have issued a General Permit to Mr.
Strickland to conduct beach bulldozing activities in front of his property. This decision was
based upon the project's consistency with Coastal Resource Commission's standards for beach
bulldozing. If you wish to request an appeal of this permit you have 20 days from the date of
permit issuance to file a request with the chairman of the Coastal Resource Commission. Please
contact me for the appropriate form to use when making this request.
