This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

Please forgive the impersonal nature of this fax as the only information we have regarding
you is your flame and fax number (Donna Maughon was in a hurry to relocate to Boone and only left
a message on our machine with the information).
Anyway, attached is a copy of the dock permit you signed for us (back in 95 I think). Last
week we escorted a CAMA inspector to the property in an effort to obtain a permit, and he suggested
we also bulkhead the property at the same time. as the dock is constructed (in two years, we've lost
several trees and about 4' of property due to storms, etc.).
So, we would like your permission to amend the "Adjacent Riparian Property Owner State-
ment" to include bulkhead. Our intentions are to use "rip -rap," as your neighbor on the other side of
your property did. The CAMA inspector said that all that is necessary is to initial near the circled
"bulkhead." (The circle only appears on this computer -generated fax and will not appear on the
original document until/if you approve it..)
