finger pier at Map 7346, pin 7346107,Star Church Rd. Marshallberg, NC
In order to validate this permit, please sign the permit as indicated. Retain the white copy for
your files and return the signed yellow and pink copies to us in the enclosed, self-addressed
envelope. If the signed permit copies are not returned to this office before the initiation of
development, you will be working without authorization and will be subject to a Notice of
Violation and subsequent civil penalties.

Re: Request for General Permit
Dear Ms. Barrett:
This request is to obtain a General Permit for my property in Marshallburg to 1) perform
maintenance of the entry channel into the boat basin, 2) install bulkheads around the boat basin,
and 3) installation of a dock in the boat basin. My property is located in Marshallburg on Star
Church Road across from Victoria Cemetery and is bordered by the properties of Mr. James
Spearman and Mr. Steve Mitchell.
As per NCDENR requirements I am submitting along with this request the following required for
the general project, which are:
1) A CAD layout of the property indicating both the Maintenance Channel Dredging area
and Bulkhead and Dock Layout that is planned. This layout was done to be specific on
cubic yardage to be removed for maintenance dredging and footage for the bulkheads
and dock. I am currently using this layout to obtain quotes from local contractors to
perform the work once a permit is obtained.
2) Original and Signed Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement from Mr. Spearman
and Mr. Mitchell with hand drawings attached to show adjacent property owners what
work was to be completed.
3) A check for $100 made out to Department of Environment and Natural Resources for
the General Permit application.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my application and I will be following up
with you in the near future to address any questions you may have. Also if possible when we speak,
I would like to establish a time for us to meet at the property. As with living in Raleigh I would
appreciate adequate time to plan to meet with you during the property review.
