This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

Dear Mrs. Myrick:
I have been hired by Mr. Ledbetter to replace his bulkhead on property next to you on Bayview.
I have recently met with CAMA and CAMA will not allow Mr. Ledbetter to replace his bulkhead
where it presently stands. They require his new bulkhead to tie into that part of your bulkhead
that runs in a north/south direction. The part of the bulkhead that extends out, or in a
east/west direction needs to come down ( see attached diagram). This section is already
damaged and will not stand alone against any type of storm. Standing alone, this section
becomes a groin, and, as a groin, it does not comply. CAMA wants it removed. As CAMA
cannot determine of this groin is yours, or Mr. Ledbetter's, they would like a statement from
you that allows me to remove it. You will incur no expense for its removal.
CAMA will not issue a permit for Mr. Ledbetter's work until they receive your statement. I
would like to get this done as quickly as possible as I know the Arnoult's are anxious. Please
review the contents of this letter and the attached drawing and call me should you have any
questions or concerns. In addition, feel free to call Mr. Arnoult as I have tried to keep him
abreast of my dealings with CAMA.
