The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.

This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

APPLICATION FOR CAMA PERMIT
The undersigned, being the owners of the real properties generally known a$,gnd
located at 119, 121 and 123 Core Drive West, Brandywine Bay, Morehead City, North" E
Carolina do hereby apply for a permit which will allow them to restore Rip -Rap to their
properties in accordance with the sketch which is attached hereto.
Subsequent to Hurricanes Bertha and Fran in 1996, the undersigned applied for and
received a permit to construct a sea wall in front of their properties having a vertical height
above ground of five (5) feet supported by Rip -Rap extending five (5) feet high with a
horizontal base extending five (5) feet from the sea wall. This construction was completed in
1997.
As a result of Hurrican Bonnie, wave wash along the shore caused some of the Rip -Rap
to sink so that in some places now along the wall the Rip -Rap may be only three (3) feet high.
Additionally, some Rip -Rap became displaced and is now more than five (5) feet from the sea
wall.
The purpose of this application is simply to permit the property owners to restore Rip -
Rap to its previously approved specifications.
