This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization. This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration, a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary to continue this certification. This permit, issued on May 2, 1990 , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may be subject to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void. 1) A preconstruction conference must be held between the permittee, his contractor and a representative of the Division of Coastal Management_ (DCM) prior to any construction activity. 2) The bulkhead alignment must be flagged and staked by a DCM representative prior to construction. 3) No marsh vegetation will be filled outside of the alignment shown on the permitted work plat drawings described above. 4) The bulkhead must be constructed prior to the placement of any earthen material. 5) All backfill material must be obtained from a highground source and confined behind the permitted bulkhead. (See Attached Sheet for Additional Conditions) This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work initiation or continuance, as the case may be. This permit must be accessible on -site to Department personnel when the project is inspected for compliance. Any maintenance work or project modification not covered hereunder requires further Departmental approval. All work must cease when the permit expires on December 31,19% In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina agrees 'flat your project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program. Hardy ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS Permit #60-90 Page 2 of 2 6) The fill material will be clean and free of any pollutants, except in trace quantities. Metal products, organic materials, or unsightly debris will not be used. 7) No excavation is authorized waterward of the bulkhead alignment. 8) Construction of the pier must be in accordance with the permitted work plat drawings described above. 9) The permittee will maintain the authorized work in good condition and in conformance with the terms and conditions of this permit.
