Schecter, Director December 10, 1996 Mr. Ray Godfrey Route 3, Box 499 Hertford, NC 27944 Re: Hurricane Storm Exemption Dear Mr. Godfrey: A.....%ftwoft EDEHNR Recently you inquired about the repair of your damaged bulkhead along the Albemarle Sound in Perquimans County. During my site visit on December 5, 1996 , it was very easy to see the damage from this season's hurricanes. I estimate that you have less than 100 feet of bulkhead to replace or repair along your shoreline. This letter authorizes your repair and or replacement of these damaged sections of bulkhead. Any new waterward bulkhead alignment must not exceed an average distance of 2.0 feet beyond the existing normal water level (NWL). This authorization is effective through July 31, 1997. If we can be of other service to you, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (919) 264-3901. Sincerely, Dennis W. Hawthorn Field Representative cc: P.
