Box 3446 Wilson, NC 27895-3446 Dear Ms. Barker: i•.... d/ IDEHNFR Thank you for your letter concerning Mr. Ed Grafton's property located adjacent to the White Oak River and in the community of Stella, Carteret County. On April 8, 1997 a storm exemption (copy enclosed) was issued to Mr. Grafton to allow for the removal of trees and which were damaged by last year's hurricanes. Fill material was also allowed to be placed in the holes which were left after the stumps were removed. I visited the site on May 20, 1997 and determined that additional work was undertaken on the property which was not authorized by the storm exemption. A Notice of Violation has been issued to Mr. Grafton for the undertaking minor development activities without a CAMA permit. As of this date, we have not received any permit application from Mr. Grafton for any upland or water base development. I will be happy to send you a copy of any permit application should he decide to apply for a CAMA permit.
