The Town is seeking quotes for the following locations: • Lee Avenue Soundside Walkway — approximately 35 ft. of walkway and step repairs on high ground adjacent to Bogue Sound; 4 ft. wide walkway with handrails, • Ridge Road Soundside Walkway — approximately 25 ft. of walkway and step repairs on high ground adjacent to Bogue Sound; 4 ft. wide walkway with handrails, • Piney Street Soundside Walkway — approximately 15 feet of stairs on high ground adjacent to Bogue Sound; 4 ft. wide walkway with handrails, • 24th Street Soundside Pier— approximately 50 linear ft. of replacement pier across sandy beach to Bogue Sound; 4 ft. wide pier. • Bluewater Drive Soundside Pier — approximately 300 linear ft. of repairs and approximately 400 linear ft. of replacement across marshland to Archer's Creek; 4 ft. wide pier with handrails and 10 ft. x 20 ft. "tee" with bench seating, • Cape Emerald / Emerald Isle Woods Soundside Pier — approximately 100 linear ft. of repairs and approximately 100 linear ft. of replacement across marshland to Bogue Sound; 4 ft. wide pier with handrails and 10 ft. x 10 ft. "tee" and kayak storage attached to side of pier structure, Detailed plans and specifications are available at the Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Department, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC. Interested contractors are required to make an appointment with Ms. Alesia Sanderson, Parks and Recreation Director, to receive a set of plans and specifications and make a site visit to the 6 locations. Interested contractors should contact Ms. Sanderson no later than August 11, 2006 to schedule a site visit. Price quotes must be submitted to Ms. Sanderson's attention at the address above no later than August 23, 2006 at 5:00 pm. The Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners is expected to formally authorize a contract to the contractor offering the most favorable price quote to the Town at its September 12, 2006 meeting. Town staff will apply for and secure necessary CAMA permits for this work, and expect to have these permits on hand by September 12, 2006. The selected contractor will be expected to begin work no later than September 19, 2006 and proceed in an expeditious manner to complete all work included in the contract.
