This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian landowner(s) . The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program. My Son-in-law, Robert Crosby, has spoken with Mr. Eatmon and has called the Office of Coastal Management but has not been able to make successful contact with them to discuss this matter. Please note that generally, I do not oppose the development of the property; however, I have concerns and and questions that I would like addressed. At this time, I am objecting to the proposal, and I am contacting you per the instruction of the letter that was mailed to me and that I received on April 24, 2007. Attached is a copy of the letter. The basis of my objection to the proposal is the section where my existing bulkhead ends and the proposed bulkhead begins. Reviewing the plat and proposal, it appears that there is a section that will not be bulkheaded and thus not protected. I'm especially concerned that this may create erosion on my property.
