The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian landowner(s) . Similar to the last GP that we wrote them at the site, they currently have 7 slips. Therefore, if they would give up the small seventh slip immediately adjacent to the access walkway leading to the Big Rock building, T would have no objection. to them using the GP .2000 for a reconfiguration of the existing docking facility to create two small slips out of the big #5 slip. Although they have. proposed to block off the small seventh slip (the 8'-wide area adjacent to the: Big Rock access walkway) to ensure that no boats use this area'as a slip, I would prefer not to do so. *I believe doing so would unnecessarily eliminate public trust access to the area. Kayack, canoes, and other small craft can utilize, the area and it still not be counted as a slip. Therefore, I would prefer to simply condition the permit such that it reads: 1) "This permit authorzes the installation of two additional pilings creating two small slips out of one large slips (previously known as slip #5 on the attached plat dated received 3/30/01)." 2) This permit continues to authorize only seven (7) slips associated with this docking facility." 3) The small 8'-wide area adjacent to the Big Rock access walkway previously labeled as slip # 7 on the aforementioned plat shall. not be used as a formalized slip." I would make a copy of the submitted plat dated received 2/9/2007. and label the new 7 slips, specifically mentioning and excluding the area adjacent to the Big Rock building as not a slip. Thanks.
