On behalf of Carolina Telephone & Telegraph Company we are applying for a general permit to
relocate the telephone cable which now crosses the Neuse River from New Bern to Bridgeton. The current
cable is secured to the Highway 17 bridge. As you are aware, the bridge now connecting New Bern to
Bridgeton will be removed.
The proposed plan is to submerge the new cable parallel to the existing bridge with an 800' offset
to the east side. Enclosed with the completed general permit application are corresponding maps and cross -
sections, the $50.00 fee, copies of the adjacent riparian landowner notifications, and a copy of the Nationwide
Permit 12 Application.
