This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
ject is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.

Re: An Objection to a Permit to Install Riprap for Shoreline Erosion Control
Dear Mr. Coffee:
I have reviewed Elvan Alyea's request for riprap to be placed along the shoreline at
Lot 137 Edgewater Subdivision (118 Edgewater Drive) in Camden Point, Camden County,
North Carolina and conclude that the proposal is consistent with those guidelines for
development as described in Subchapter 07H of the North Carolina Administrative Code.
Therefore on 25 September 1998 Permit 902923A was issued to Mr. Alyea to install riprap
along 100' of shoreline a maximum distance of 5' waterward of normal water level (see
attached permit).
Since you indicated to our office on 23 September 1998 that you wished to appeal this
decision you may use the attached form to file a request with the Director of the Division of
Coastal Management, Department of Environment and Natural Resources within twenty (20)
days of the permit decision. If you have any questions regarding this matter please do not
