Lane@ncmai 1. net> Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2007 16:55:50 -0400 To: Mason Herndon <mherndon@dot.state.nc.us> Hi Mason, I reviewed the modifications that you have proposed to the permit for the Isabel Holmes Bridge submarine cable relocation project (DCM General Permit #47125). In your April 16, 2007 email proposal, you indicate DOT would like to add articulating matting and #57 stone on top of the relocated cables to protect them from potential damage. Please consider this email as official notification that the proposed modifications are hereby authorized and incorporated into DCM General Permit #47125. Please be reminded that all original conditions of the permit apply and that the top of the stone and articulating matting must be placed at least 6' below the authorized depth of the USACE channel. If you have any questions regarding this email, please let me know. Sincerely, Stephen Mason Herndon wrote: Stephen, Per our conversation, attached is a modified x-section of the proposed trench for the Isabel Holmes Bridge submarine cable relocation project that you authorized under GP 1600 on 3/9/07. NCDOT is now proposing to add articulating matting and 57 stone on top the relocated cables to protect them from damage during any future work in this area. The stone and matting will be 6 ft below the proposed USACE dredging depth of -42 at this location and therefore compliant with the depth condition of the CAMA permit. If you have question or need any additional information please let me know. Thanks Mason. 1 of 1 4/ 16/2007 5:00 PM
