Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

In order to validate this permit, please sign the permit as indicated. Retain the white copy for
your files and return the signed yellow and pink copies to us in the enclosed, self-addressed
envelope. If the signed permit copies are not returned to this office before the initiation of
development, you will be working without authorization and will be subject to a Notice of
Violation and subsequent civil penalties.

Hello Mr. Chesnut, I spoke with my DM and i told you wrong about the floating dock. I told you it may
not count towards the sq. footage of platform. Unfortunatly it does. The way the dock is at the present is
already over the square footage allowed. The rule states for shorelines of 100' or less you are allowed 4
square feet per linear foot of shoreline. Because of what you are applying for there is not a way to
permit this. One option would be to remove some of the existing platform. The total amount allowed
for your shoreline here would be 340 square feet. If the existing platform was partly removed then it is
possible a floating dock could be done. Remember all of this would not be able to exceed 340 square
feet. If this is what the HOA would like to do because of the changes new Riparian notifications would
need to be done with new drawings showing what is existing and what would be changed. I hope this

Gents,
Wayne Driver came by today with some recommended changes to our dock plan per a discussion he had
with Warren. From the diagram Wayne brought over, I cut out two mooring pilings and added two for
anchoring the floating dock. He also recommended putting cleats on both the existing and current dock.
We should probably have four cleats on the current dock and two smaller cleats on the floating dock. I didn't
put the cleats on the .ppt but will if desired. It should be irrelevant to CAMA.
