Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause ,the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

I am pleased to announce the selection of, Outer Banks Marine Construction, for the
construction of my dock.
Enclosed, please find copies of the original request.
The starting point on land of the dock will be of your discretion. It is important that there
be an offset of at least 15 feet from the parallel property line dividing my two parcels.
The ending point over the water will also be at you discretion, but I would like to have at
least around 18 inches to 2 feet of water at an average high tide.

Dear Mr. Grimes,
I am the owner of property locater on Gales Creek across from the Gales Creek Bridge
on highway 24. I would like to request a bid or estimate from your company for the
construction of a dock as indicated in enclosed attachment 1 and described in attachment
2. Access to my property is from highway 24, turn on to the Hibbs Road. In a very
short distance you will see to your left, the OLD SWANSBORO ROAD. Go down the
Old Swansboro Road until you pass the Steadham property road on your left. My
entrance is the next entrance to the left. The entrance is closed off by a locked cable and
access is controlled by Steve Steadham at 726-4480. Please arrange with Steve to have
the locked cable remover before going to the property.

The following is the suggested specifications for the George James Dock located at Gales
Creek. The dock location is to be as shown in the attached drawing. The property
address is 395 old Swansboro Road.
The dock entry from land is to start approximately 10 feet North of the High Water Mark.
This point is to be determined by the builder of the dock is expected to be between point
D and point E as indicated on the drawing. There shall be an offset of 15 feet from the
Westerly property line deviding the James parcels 6326-02-95-5596000 and 3626-04-94-
4309000. There is an iron pipe located on this line as indicated in the drawing a point A,
and a concrete monument at point E. The end of the property is 55.70 feet past point E.
The dock is to extend towards the South thereby crossing over a section of the marsh,
water way, and another section of marsh land, and into the open creek. At the end of the
dock there should be a minimum of two feet of water during high tide. The dock is to
have a width of 4 feet with a 6 foot wide 10 foot long T section at the water end. The
height of the dock above the marsh is to be a minimum of 3 feet from the bottom. The
minimum required height above the water way section is 5 feet above the High water
mark and have a minimum span of 6 foot in length. According to a computer generated
model, the total length of the dock is approximately 200 feet. The actual length will be
determined by the start and ending points as indicated above, and is therefore expected to
be less.
