Valentine 5238 Webb Court Morehead City, NC 28557 Ms. Heather Styron Coastal Area Management Authority ("CAMA") —" RECEIVED JAN 13 2010 400 Commerce Avenue Morehead City, NC 28557 \ January 12, 2010 Re: 5238 Webb Court, Morehead City, NC Ms. Styron: City DCM As we discussed on the telephone, in 2006 I applied for and received a major CAMA permit (No. 45730; please see attachment) for a dock and boat lift at the above -referenced property (my home). As part of the plan, four mooring poles were approved, to be installed in front of the dock, toward the "boat lift end" of the dock. Only two were actually installed. Being relatively new to boating, and never having designed a dock before, I thought at that time that these mooring poles would be useful in their present location. As it turns out, they are essentially useless in their present location (no one ties up their boat directly behind the boat lift). As such, I am asking for permission to make a refinement to my original plan. The requested refinement would consist of moving the two mooring poles to a corresponding location at the other end (non -boat lift end) of the dock. I intend to keep the poles in the existing footprint of the dock (out no further than 25% of the creek, not within 15 feet of my neighbor).
