Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that [)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Brad, appreciate your help with this. I talked to the marine contractor and he does not see a problem shortening
the the chain and suggested a slightly larger anchor. Also, our boat is only 35' and we do not envision ever
having anything larger then 35'. If we used 12' of chain from the anchor to the mooring ball and 10' from the
boat to the mooring ball we would have 57' overall. I believe this would conform with the requirements.
Please let me know if this is okay.
Also, I had Mr. Manngard initial the form and that is attached along with Mr. Chinni.

Brad, attached is a picture with some dimensions on it. Let me know if this would work and I can add whatever
additional details are needed. I placed the Mooring 165' off the existing dock, but if possible may want to add
some additional room. At a 165' there 30' of chain to the mooring buoy from the anchor and an addition 15' for
a tether to the mooring. I am planning for a boat no bigger then 45'(current one is 35'). That leaves 60' feet to the
closet obstacles which are the outside pilings on my dock.

You're on the right track, but I think we need some additional information in order to make a prudent decision in the
matter. What seems to be lacking are the dimensions of the project area. The DCM will need to see the full arc of the
swing. This takes into account the type of mooring anchor to be used, all the way to the stern of the boat that will be
utilizing this off -shore slip.
The full dimension of circumference should show that it will not be a hindrance to navigation by location relative to the
navigable channel portion of the waterbody, the adjacent riparian lines, and the nearest docking facility. It also needs to
show where it is in relation to the shoreline. Freestanding moorings, such as this one, cannot extend beyond 400 feet
waterward nor a 1/3 of the width of the waterbody (whichever is more restrictive) under the General Permit rules.
If you need any more assistance in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me.
