I think it is clear from the drawing that if one really wanted a two slip dock, one could gel that with a much smaller, less expensive floating platform than he is requesting. A similar dock that one put on the "point" " at the end ®f Front St had a 70 + ft boat docked there recently for some weeks, with plenty of room for two smaller boats on the "land side" ®f the floating platform. My adjacent property known as 110 Ann Bused: is in the process of being acquired by my daughter and son-in-law as their primary residence. The Duncan House has been utilized as a commercial venture since acquired by Mr. Tolsonn's group and has been used as a rental, wedding and party functions, etc. -- notwithstanding ing the fact that it is a residential neighborhood. Due t® multiple complaints from adjoining and nearby neighbors, I believe the Town of Beaufort has put a number of restrictions on their ability d® utilize the property for commercial purposes. I do sympathize with their desire for sources ®f revenue -- and the quickest and easiest route is slip rental. Tolson, III with regard to General Permit Application for docks on Lot 2, 105 Front Street Dear Mark: 1 enclose herewith a copy of the following documents: - Above described Notification Letter dated July 27 (the "Letter") - Copy of the "Division of Coastal Management Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Notification/Waiver Form included with such letter; - Copy of the drawing of the proposed docks included with such letter (the "Drawing")- and - Copy of a former map sent to me by Mr. Tolson showing the entire subdivision of the UHF property. ( the "Subdivision Map") As best I can determine, the Drawing does not reflect a proposed dock on Lot No. 2, but on a lot on the South side of Front Street. Also; as I have indicated to you in other letters, the drawing indicates adock suitable for 4 smalls boats, or 2 small boats and 1 large one. Since the drawing does not reflect a proposed dock on property adjacent to mine (ie. Lot #2), 1 must assume that the Notice is defective and therefore null and void.
