AUTHORIZED SIGNATURE u'OO L973110 1:053 LO L L 2 0:0005 297687 L84n' I To: NCDENR Attn: Heather Stvron Division of Coastal Nvlanagement 400 Commerce Avenue Morehead City, NC 28557 Reference: CAMA General Permit for Spooners Creek Marina Maintenance Dredging less than 1000 cubic yards Spooners Creek Marina, located at 150 Lands End Court, Morehead City in Carteret County, North Carolina is in need of maintenance dredging of pre-existing marina boat slips previously permitted by LAMA. We would like to perform maintenance dredging of the creek bottom located within the already defined boundaries (slips) of Spooners Creek Marina. This proposed dredging will be limited to the confines of the marina, and will not include the Spooners Creek entrance channel nor any areas of Spooners Creek outside of the defined marina boundaries. Less than 1000 cubic yards of soil would be removed with an estimated removal of 500 cubic yards of marina bottom. Proposed water depth in each slip would be 6 feet at MLW. This would be consistent with the 6 feet natural depth of Spooners Creek at MLW. As per requirement by CAMA, both adjacent property owners, Janice Bynam and Spooners Creek LTD Liability Company have been notified via certified mail (3/9/12) of our intentions to dredge. The CAMA required paperwork has been forwarded to each of the adjacent owners. Slips to be dredged are measured as 22 feet wide by 50 feet long. The average slip depth is 4 feet at MLW. The proposed dredging is not planned to be done within 15 feet of the existing seawall and equipment will limit the actual dredged bottom to an area 18 feet by 50 feet. Removing an estimated 100 cubic yards per slip. Dredging of the C Dock Gas and Diesel slips would be an area relatively of the same dimensions, approximately 100 cubic yards per slip.
