Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Odum:
Attached is General Permit #C- 33682 to construct a 6' x 77' pier w/ a 6' x 210' elevated access
over marsh, a 10' x I l' platform, 3'x 33' catwalk, 3' x 12.5' catwalk, and a 12' x 12' uncovered
boat lift in Onslow County adjacent to the AIWW within Pages Golden Acres, Phase I at 251
Waterway Drive, Sneads Ferry.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the white
copy for your files and return the signed yellow and pink copies to us in the enclosed, self-
addressed envelope. If the signed permit copies are not returned to this office before the initiation
of development, you will be working without authorization and will be subject to a Notice of
Violation and subsequent civil penalties.

Dear Mr. Taylor:
This letter serves as a follow-up to our site meeting of August 29, 2002 at 251
Waterway Drive, adjacent to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, in Sneads Ferry, Onslow
County, North Carolina. The purpose of the site visit was to discuss the various permit
requirements associated with the high ground and a docking facility on the property. Jim
Gregson, with our Wilmington Office of the Division also joined us at the site.
Based upon our site visit and on the pertinent Coastal Resources Commission rules, we
informed you that the project site did not meet the criteria for a boathouse adjacent to a dock.
15A NCAC 07H.0208(b)(6)(G) states that "Boathouses shall not exceed 400 square feet except
to accommodate a demonstrated need for a larger boathouse and shall have sides extending no
farther than one-half the height of the walls and only covering the top half of the walls.
Measurements of square footage shall be taken of the greatest exterior dimensions.
Boathouses shall not be allowed on lots with less than 75 linear feet of shoreline." Our site
visit revealed that the lot at 251 Waterway Drive has less than 75 feet of shoreline and
therefore any permit request for such development would be found inconsistent with that rule
and therefore would be denied.
Should you wish to appeal this decision to the Coastal Resources Commission or
request a variance from the rule, please contact me so I can provide you with the proper forms
and any other information you may require. Appeals must be received within twenty days of
the permit decision. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please don't hesitate to
contact me at my Morehead City Office (252-808-2808).
