SUBJECT: Pipe replacement on River Rd (SR 1100) at River Oaks, New Hanover County
Dear Mr. Arrington:
Please find enclosed a CAMA General Permit Application for pipe replacement on River Rd (SR 1100),
300 ft north of the intersection of River Oaks (SR 2317) in New Hanover County. The existing pipe is a
24" x 44-ft reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and will be replaced with a 36" x 50-ft corrugated metal pipes
(CMP). Replacement of this pipe is necessary due to pipe failure, creating a potential safety concern. Pipe
size was recommended in order to accommodate for the drainage area and to allow for i ft of the pipe
diameter to be set below normal bed elevation. The scope of the work will impact less than 0.01 acres of
waters and wetlands associated with Cape Fear River
By copy of this letter we are also requesting authorization from the Army Corp of Engineers, Wilmington
District Office. If you have any question or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (910) 251-5724.
