SUBJECT: Pipe replacement on River Rd (SR 1100) at Veterans Dr, New Hanover County
Dear Mr. Arrington:
Please find enclosed a CAMA General Permit Application for pipe replacement on River Rd (SR 1100),
0.4 miles south of the intersection of Veterans Dr. in New Hanover County. The existing pipe is an 18" x
50-ft reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and will be replaced with a 36" x 50-ft corrugated metal pipes (CMP).
Replacement of this pipe is necessary due to pipe failure, creating a potential safety concern. Pipe size was
recommended in order to accommodate for the drainage area and to allow for I ft of the pipe diameter to be
set below normal bed elevation. The scope of the work will impact less than 0.01 acres of waters and
wetlands associated with Cape Fear River
By copy of this letter we are also notifying the Army Corp of Engineers, Wilmington District Office of this
project. If you have any question or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (910) 251-5724.
